Christian Education
Church School
Church School meets each Sunday morning, September through May, beginning at 9:15 AM. There are classes for children age 3 through Adults. The program is planned to help those attending to come to know Christ and to deepen their understanding of the Bible. They also learn to grow in their relations with God, self, others and the world.
Catechetical School
A three-year program for Middle School students to prepare for confirmation. This program helps to build the youth's understanding of the Church and includes a study of the life of Martin Luther, with some memorization of Luther's Small Catechism.
First Communion Class
This program offers fifth graders the opportunity to prepare for participation in Holy Communion and to increase their appreciation for worship in the Lutheran tradition.
Bible Study
Tuesday mornings from 9:30-10:30 a.m., a group meets in McCowan Fellowship Hall for a Bible study. Wednesday Evenings 6:00-7:00 pm.
Cradle Roll
The "Cradle Roll" is maintained by a volunteer who sends periodic greetings to families of infants received by baptism. Growth in God's Grace is a published list of greetings used.
Pastor's Class/ New Member's Class
This program acquaints prospective members and refreshes present members with the traditions and beliefs of the Church. It encourages participants to deepen their knowledge of the Scriptures and to strengthen their commitment to Christ. Prospective members are invited to become members of our congregation.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is held each summer with the date to be announced. The purpose is to teach children the Good News with Bible stories and examples of Christian living; also, the participation in crafts, nature walks, picnics, etc.
Acolyte Training
Pastor and members of the Altar Guild regularly train the youth in the parish for active service in the Chancel, to light candles, receive the offerings, assist at Communion and to serve as cross-bearer. The Acolyte Corps is open to youth fifth grade and up who have had their first communion.
